Custom Go-Karts from Scratch
Designed and fabricated three go-karts from raw materials, managing full assembly from initial concept through finished product. All frames were modeled in SolidWorks and Onshape, then MIG welded. After the first build I cut production and manufacturing costs by 37% through refined processes and smarter material sourcing.
Engine modifications included optimizing air/fuel ratios, installing heavier valve springs, removing governors for ungoverned RPMs, and varying carburetor jet sizes to maximize power output. CVTs were tuned and installed for significantly better performance and throttle response over standard centrifugal clutches. Hydraulic brakes replaced mechanical disc brakes for improved stopping power and reliability.
Gearing was optimized per driving scenario — taller gearing for high-speed tracks and shorter gearing for tight, technical layouts. Performed in-depth cost analysis on each build and provided fair valuations for client karts.
